FIRST DAY OF PRE-K

Today, Michael started Pre-K....its been quite an adjustment from being a late sleeper to an early riser (we've been "practicing" for a couple of weeks).

Wake up, Michael!

No, really--wake up!
I found that getting him dressed in bed is the easiest way to get him going.

What else for breakfast?! Chocolate Chip Pancakes..Michael's favorite.

WAYYY too early!
Eating breakfast.

Time to brush your teeth!Change of shirt..got chocolate on the other one. Are you sure you are awake?

Time to go wait for the bus..
And we have a visitor!! Cute pig tails, Baby Star!

Big boy...all excited.
Here it comes.....(AHHHHHHHHH!!)

Bye Bye, Michael!!!
Getting buckled in....the bus driver said he did great.

I still can't get over it....3 years old and riding a school bus. I'm so glad he enjoyed it and is looking forward to the ride tomorrow.

The girls...(Rian was taking a nap)

Waiting for Michael to come home

Silly faces....

Peek-a-boo!
It is Joe & Sherilyn's anniversary today, that is why I had Estrella this morning.
Still waiting for Michael.

Here he comes!!!

Yay!!!

Home again...

Michael seemed to have a great first day--no issues with the bathroom, rode the bus like a champ, played on the playground, ate his snack...and again, thankfully--he is looking forward to going back. Hard as it is for me, that makes things so much easier (if that makes any sense). It would be a nightmare if he didn't enjoy it.
He came home happy--and ate an ENORMOUS lunch. Maybe he will be so hungry that he won't be so picky about what he eats anymore!!!! (wishful thinking, I'm sure). Also came home tired and wanted hugs--a nice thing about 3 year olds. I'll bet once he is 8 he won't want a hug anymore. Anyway.
We had no tears (on either end) though I really expected them on my part...dunno, maybe once the hype is over...though I'm not much of a crier.
This was a big day.
This is a drastic change in our schedule.
This is a huge event.
This is a life-changing experience.
We'll keep you posted, D.V.

We're glad it wasn't so bad:-) Selah is super envious, especially about the bus part!
