PARK DAYS

We recently had one of those crazy days where "everyone" is going in different directions and the times make it difficult.

MJ had work, the girls had a birthday party and there was dance class, plus another stop in between.

It would have all been no big deal if it was local-but the birthday party was almost an hour away and for only a two hour duration.  No way we were going home in between.  Instead we found a park close by.

Thankfully, we had some lovely weather.

The other three boys were with us too, they were just busy on the other side of the playground.

Just a couple pictures

Happy Spring!!

SKATE

We went to the roller rink again in March.

Mr. 2 tried skates for the first time.  The kind that strap to your shoe.

He was unsure and didn't want to go back out after the first go around..

..but with a little encouragement and help he was on his own and having a grand ol' time.
It is nearly impossible to fall with these things- and he was basically walking-but it's a start!!

I'm thankful for so many helpers!

SIGHT AND SOUND

This past week, Mike had the opportunity to bring the biggest Rosebuds to see "Moses" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, P.A.

They made a day of it and explored some of the town.

Both of our co-ops actually went the same day, but this is the group that we signed up with.

Safe to say, they really enjoyed the show and had a great time.

Maybe next year we can go as a family.

10 MONTHS

I think we blinked and this guy is now 10 months old.

I know I say it often, but wow-it has gone by so quickly.

He is eating a lot of solids, while still nursing throughout the day.

As you can see he is standing and cruising..he has only taken about 1 step at a time solo-

I'm sure he will be running before we know it.

I would be really surprised if he wasn't walking by the end of this month.

We've got at least 5 teeth and EVERYTHING goes in the mouth..

Mr. Independent wants to keep right up with the big kids and does a lot of copying.
We love you big boy!

CRAZY CAT LADY

One of Missy's friends made this shark hat for the kitty.
Our crazy cat lady loved it.

SEASON ENDING

Basketball came to an end in early March.

The boys really enjoyed themselves.

They both had great coaches and teammates and overall had a winning season.
I think that each team only lost one game for the duration of the season.

At the end, they gave each of the players a new basketball.
The younger boys are excited because now they can each have "their own" to practice with too.

I did not take the following video, it was another parent-but I'm so glad they did.  It was definitely exciting!

WINTER FORMAL

One of our co-ops held a Winter Formal at David's Country Inn in February.

They were having a line dancing instructor, so all the kids asked for boots..

and MJ wanted a hat.

(He actually wears the hat all the time!)

We carpooled with a friend!

They had a great time and they had allergy-friendly food options, which was amazing!

BLUE MOUNTAIN

The end of January brought the big kids to Blue Mountain for snow tubing with one of our co-ops!

It was cold, but not too cold and there was a good time had by all!

PRETTY BIG DEAL

Back in 2018, we got word that there was going to be an outreach started in the Pocono region of P.A. that was looking for support/attendees.  The efforts have been blessed and in the beginning on 2023 the outreach became incorporated into the URC and we had an installation service for our first office bearers.

Check us out!

We pray the Lord's blessing on this new venture as an established church.
May we truly be a "light in the Poconos"

NYE

Happy New Year!

2023.

Mike and MJ both had to work on NYE and the next day was Sunday, so it did put a bit of a damper on our celebrating, but we managed to get a bit in.

Attempting a family photo

Gifts

His favorite thing was a homemade noise maker-made out of a plastic water bottle.

Some afternoon festivities:

Levi was thrilled that his team won!

Wishing you and yours a blessed, healthy, prosperous New Year!

7 MONTHS

This guy turned 7 months not too long ago.

Crazy how fast it goes!

He started crawling late in the 6th month,
has two little bottom razors teeth, and is determined to pull himself up on just about everything.
He has tasted a bit of "people" food but not much at this point.

Overall, he is a pretty happy guy
and we're so thankful for him!

BASKETBALL

A new venture for us this year.

The 3 middle boys are playing basketball with the Upward program.
I had heard that it is fairly low key and practice just once a week, so figured we'd give it a shot.

Of course, its 45 minutes away and practice is from 7-9 PM and games are EVERY Saturday NIGHT!

whew.

We'll make it.

I was NOT expecting evening games.

They had all 3 boys on different teams with overlapping practices, but a friend pointed out that one of the boys had practice at a different location.  So, being that I cannot be at three different places at once, we moved one of the boys to another team.

So far, all is well.

Well, except for the fact that Grant cut his finger and had to get stitches and is missing practice and the first game already.

One of the nice things about this program is that it is Christian based.
The head coach gathers everyone mid-way through practice and they read a Bible verse, do a brief meditation and pray.
Can't beat that!

Hope you have a great season boys!
