KIDS AND THINGS..

Here are some pictures we took tonight at dinner..
Look!  It is still light out!!
Yes, the kids do eat rather early now that we're on "school schedule."
But it is still light out at 5:30/6pm.

That makes me happy.

Sunshine in general makes me happy.
Literally.
I feel happier when in the sunshine or when it is shining through the windows..

Anyway, I digress.

Silly, exhausted kids.
They were up very, very, very late last night.
And were wiped out today.
(see the birthday celebration post)

Michael also woke up and had tummy troubles.
AGAIN!!!
Rena also has taken to climbing out of her crib in the morning..
and she does this at the crack of dawn.
AND, she always wakes up her sister.

So, in addition to being tired today--they were EXTRA tired.
:)

Silly faces are always fun.

This girl,
she can make some crazy faces.
She makes me laugh.

This little girl can make some silly faces too..
but she was too tired.

She was content just being cute.
And messy.
Looking forward to her bath.

In other news, wow--a lot of posts tonight.
That would be because my darling is downstairs putting in a new hot water heater.
Ours has met its end.
Hopefully this will help the problems we have had with hot water since day one.

Also, what do you think of the new blog look?
I noticed on some of the posts--the words get lost in the design.
Is that a problem?
How about the music?
You like?
You don't like?

That is a whole other can of worms.
There is always a lot to be said about music.
Maybe we should save it for another day.

UNEXPECTED.

Just because gifts are somehow so much nicer.
No, I shouldn't say that.
It is nice to get gifts at any time..
but there is something special about someone giving  you a gift just because.
Just because they were thinking of you..
Just because they knew you needed "it"..
Just because they love you..
Just because.

I got a "just because" gift a week or so ago.

And it is time for a haircut!!!!!!!!

Thanks, dear.
I appreciate it.
And you.

(and Sherilyn for getting it and delivering it..cause I'm sure you did).

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Last night, Mike's side of the family (immediate family),
minus Bryon, Linda & Cole,
came up to celebrate Mike & Bill's birthday.
Bill & Cathy came up from Maryland for the weekend.

Matt & Grandma

Grandpa and Rena

Rena and Uncle Matt.
Very cute.
Carina was pretending (what else is new!!) that there was a monster in her room
and Uncle Matt was protecting her.
:)

The twins.

Time for cake.

Whew!  Look at all those candles!!
(guess I shouldn't talk though..........)

They blew out the candles together...
but even with the two of them it took, what,  three tries?!!!

Some after dinner chit-chat.

I guess Bill was thirsty.
;)

It was nice to see you guys.

TRAFFIC..

..was really bad today.
Major accident on interstate-kitchenfloor.

Cars and trucks overturned.
It was nearly a 75 car pile up.

Highway patrol lost his lights!

It was really, really messy.
Lots of gridlock.
Thankfully, no one was injured.

It is a good thing there were no flames--
the firetruck had no way out.
(Puts me in mind of those people, who when stuck in major traffic/accident,
will drive up the shoulder
and end up blocking the lane for emergency vehicles..
Grrr!  I must admit, I am happy when I see a cop flagging them over.
Okay, thats enough of my ranting and raving)

Traffic.
We all have to deal with it at one point or another..

I don't mind it so much when its on interstate-kitchenfloor.

I would like to have interstate-kitchenfloor re-paved.
Maybe it would help the traffic..?
.
.
hmmmm...

BIRTHDAY EVENING

March 3rd was Mike's birthday.
(Bill's too)

We waited and waited for him to come home...

Finally, he got home and (we had made a chocolate pudding pie) blew out some candles
after we sang "Happy Birthday."

And opened a card made by Michael.

And a card from me.

Then with a little help(er) opened his birthday gift.

A new shop vac

Daddy and the kids

The kids had already had dinner..
So we enjoyed by ourselves.
We had more of a "special" meal..we don't eat like this every night!!
It was a special occasion.

Hope you enjoyed your birthday evening.

AT IT AGAIN

Yup.
Rian decided to help me unpack the groceries.

Until she came to these.
Then she wouldn't let them go!

MY STINKER

Remember when I told you about her favorite spot?

Well, it has not changed yet.
No matter how I try and block it off.

Good thing she is cute.

The stinker.
