AFTER THEY SAID "I DO"

After the ceremony and pictures, we headed over to the reception hall..about 10-15 minutes away.
Guests were able to mingle during a "cocktail" hour while the wedding party had a room downstairs.
The reception was held in an American Legion Hall that we decorated the day before...and touched up earlier in the day.

Someone was a little tired after having done hair and makeup for several..

A view of the front of the room..fireplace loaded with candles and a small dance floor.
V.V. was showing off her moves.

DRESS-UP

A few final touches before leaving for the ceremony.

There were a bunch of photos taken outside by the photographer, but I was busy inside helping others get ready, so I didn't get any sneak peeks at those.
There was a house-full of people..all the bridesmaids, flower girls, both sets of parents, groom was in and out, photographer, etc...

Finally everyone is ready to leave!

And...of course, I have no pictures at the church, since being part of the wedding party did not allow me free hands or time and space to snap pictures.
Next post will skip right to the reception.

PREPPING

Wedding day arrived.
It was not super early, which was nice.

We met at Sherilyn's house.
Two of the bridesmaids opted not to come, but instead do their own hair and makeup.
I came a bit later and so missed the beginning of the prepping and primping.

A little while later, we had a change of location to start getting dressed and ready for pictures.

REHEARSAL

At last the time came for the wedding.
For those of you who don't know--this was the last of my siblings getting married.
The bride and groom traveled from out west to have the wedding and reception here, with a reception planned for the following month in their home state after the honeymoon.

Here are some pictures from the rehearsal in a pretty little church.

Kiddies all patiently waiting.

Going over some details after the walk-through.

Cake!
Made by a family member.

How about some practice?

Thus was the beginning of the beginning of the adventure of the weekend.

Both Mike and I were part of the wedding party, so unfortunately I don't have as many pictures as I would have liked..just because it was not possible!

More to come.
